After his success with True Blood, Alexander Skarsgard is in the process of becoming a bit of a movie star. He’s got Melancholia, Straw Dogs and Battleship due out in the next year, and now THR reports he’s in negotiations to join the thriller The East, starring opposite Sundance darling Brit Marling, who co-wrote the project with Zal Batmanglij, who is directing.
Not a massive amount is known about the plot, but it revolves around a female agent who infiltrates an eco-terrorist group, who call themselves The East. In the film, Skarsgard would play the leader of the group who seeks revenge against unethical corporations.
It’s likely the movie will start shooting in Nashville October and November.
