I’d imagine Bryan Cranston can’t believe his luck. There aren’t many actors in their mid-50s who sudenly become the roast of Hollywood and find directors falling over themselves to give them roles. He has though, largely thanks to the TV series Breaking Bad.
He’s got John Carter, Red Tails, Rock of Ages, Total Recall and Argo coming up (and had to pull out of The Gangster Squad as he’s so busy), and now THR reports that he’s found to time to slot in a ‘small but flashy’ role in World War Z. It isn’t known exactly what part he’ll play, but the movie will see him star alongside Brad Pitt .
The movie, which is currently shooting, is an adaptation of Max Brook’s book, which is a mock journalistic investigation into a worldwide zombie outbreak. Based on extensive interviews with survivors and key players in the 10-year fight-back against the horde, it looks at how the outbreak came about and how some people survived the onslaught. It hasn’t been revealed exactly how the movie version will work but it should run along similar lines. Marc Forster is directing.
