Seth Rogen and Zac Efron aren’t most people’s idea of a good comedy duo, but it look like they’re going to try it out, as THR reports that they’re both attached to a new pitch from Funny People co-producers Andrew Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, which Universal has just purchased.
There’s very little info on the plot, but apparently the film will ‘pit Rogen, playing an average guy, against Efrons frat boy’. Presumably there’s a bit more to it than that, but whether this means the two will play bitter rivals or if they’re going to team up isn’t quite clear. Either way it’s an oddly intriguing pairing, and it’ll be interesting to see if it works.
It’s early days though, as the pitch has only just been bought and currently no director is attached. Both Rogen and Efron are busy people too, so it isn’t clear when they might fit this one in.
