Snow White and the Huntsman is certainly busy finding its dwarves (or at least average-sized actors who will be digitally made more dwarf-like). Only yesterday it was revealed that Ian McShane would be playing the leader of the Dwarves, a bearded gent called Caesar, and now THR reports that Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan and Steven Graham are all in talks to help round out the dwarf posse.
Izzard will play Tiberius, the biggest of the dwarves, Hoskins is portraying a blind dwarf named Constantine, and Toby Jones is set to play shay dwarf Claudius. THR doesn’t name Eddie Marsan and Stephen Graham’s characters, but left over there are the twins, Hadrian and Trajan, angry dwarf Nero and a sweet young dwarf called Gus.
Rupert Sanders is directing, with Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Charlize Theron as the evil queen and Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman. The movie is a slightly different take on the story than usual, concentrating on the relationship between Snow White and the man told to take her into the woods and kill her. In most versions, the Huntsman just allows her to run off, but here he’ll help her learn survival skills and fight back. There is still a Prince though, to be played by On Stranger Tide’s Sam Claflin.
Snow White and the Huntsman is due June 2012.
