She impressed in 28 Days Later and was one fo the best things about the first two Pirates Of The Carribbean sequels, but Naomie Harris hasn’t really been used by Hollywood as much as perhaps she should have been. However now it appears she may be getting the chance to be a Bond girl (although in these modern times, perhaps the term ‘Bond girl’ should be replaced with ‘Independent woman who happens to be in a film in which James Bond is the main star’).
Harris’ possible involvement in Bond 23 was first reported by the News Of The World, and Shadow & Act says they have a scooper who confirmed the news with Harris herself, so it would appear that it’s true.
She’s described as playing 007’s sexy sidekick, so she may actually get more to do than just be a bit mysterious and then get banged by Bond, which used to be a Bond girl’s main role in life.
Daniel Craig and Judi Dench will both be back for the movie, and there are rumours Joseph Fiennes and Javier Bardem have been offered roles. However, now that an October 2012 release date has been announced, director Sam Mendes is going to have to get moving on making the film a reality, so expect some more casting confirmation soon.
