The currently Untitled Snow White Project that Tarsem is directing (not to be confused with Universal’s Snow White And The Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth) has found its dwarves, as Relativity Media has closed deals with Mark Povinelli (Water for Elephants), Jordan Prentice (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle), Danny Woodburn (Watchmen), Sebastian Saraceno (Bedtime Stories), Ronald Lee Clark (Epic Movie), Martin Klebba (Hancock) and Joe Gnoffo (Pirates of the Caribbean series) to play them. The studio has also cast Mare Winningham (Brothers) as Baker Margaret and Michael Lerner (Elf) as Baron.
The nine actors join the previously announced cast, including Julia Roberts as the Wicked Queen, Lily Collins as Snow White, Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew Alcott, and Nathan Lane as the Queen’s hapless and bungling servant, Brighton. Principal photography will start in June, with a rather tight schedule as Relativity recently moved the release date up three months to March 16, 2012, to ensure it comes out ahead of rival project, Snow White And The Huntsman..
The currently untitled movie is pitched as a spectacular reimagining of the classic fairy tale, in which an evil queen steals control of a kingdom, and an exiled princess enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright in a spirited adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal.
