There was Hepburn & Tracy, Astaire & Rogers, and now it Wahlberg & Ferrell will be our new screen partnership, as having had success with last year’s The Other Guys, it appears Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg want to team up again for a film that’s tentatively titled, Turkey Bowl, according to Deadline.
At the moment the film is just a pitch from 30 Rock writers Robert Carlock, and Scott Silveri, which Warner Bros. has just bought with Ferrell and Wahlberg attached. In the movie, they’d play guys from football-obsessed towns who lead rival teams in an annual tackle football game for bragging and trash-talking rights. Deadline adds that, ‘The tackle games are grandiose, and I’m told they plan to pack it with fun cameos, just the way they did during the rival broadcaster gang fights in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.’
Also onboard the movie is Alec Baldwin, who will apparently play Wahlberg’s father.
At the moment the film has no director, and there’s no info on when it might shoot.
