While many Hollywood couples seem to deliberate avoid working together, that’s not so for Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, who’ve just booked a gig together, called The Bleeder, according to Variety. But with young kids, maybe sticking close to each other at work isn’t such a bad thing.
The film, which will be helmed by Jeff Feurzeig, is based on the true story of former New Jersey heavyweight boxer and womaniser Chuck Wepner, who boxed 15 rounds with Muhammad Ali. Although he’d had some success in his early career (although he lost to both Sonny Liston and George Foreman), most presumed his 1975 bout with Ali was mainly about the great fighter asserting his dominance by dominating a lesser fighter, Wepner put up a gutsy challenge, not giving up even when Ali opened up cuts above his eyes and broke his nose. Watching the fight inspired Sylvester Stallone to pen Rocky.
Mad Men star Christin Hendricks will also be in the movie, which is currently looking for buyers at Canner.
