Amongst the very storng cast of Modern Family, Sofia Vergara has always been a bit of a stand-out and Colombian vixen Gloria, ensuring she’s been in demand for movies in the past couple of years. Now Variety reports that the actress is in early discussions to join the cast of The Three Stooges for directors Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly.
Vergara would play a conniving woman who tricks The Three Stooges into thinking she’s the wife of a dying man, telling them they will be handsomely rewarded if they kill the man while he sleeps. The plan is to tell the story of The Three Stooges over three vignettes, done in the style of the trio’s original comedy shorts, the second of which will be Vergara’s story.
The directors have already locked in two of The Three Stooges, with Will Sasso playing Curly and Sean Hayes portraying Larry. Moe has yet to be cast, although with plans to start shooting relatively soon, they’d better find somebody fairly quickly.
