Universal Pictures has picked up the spec script Bait and Switch from screenwriter Matthew J. O’Neil, which is being eyed as a starring vehicle for Mark Wahlberg. However this is one of those where that’s about all we know, as Variety reports that they’re keeping the story details close to their chest, other than to say it’s an action-comedy.
Mark Wahlberg will produce along with Scott Stuber, John Jacobs, and Stephen Levinson. The project marks the first script sale for Matthew J. O’Neil, so congratulations to him!
There’s no news on when Bait & Switch might go ahead, but it won’t be for a while, as Wahlberg will shortly start filming Seth MacFarlane’s feature-film directorial debut, Ted.
