For a while now, Universal has been working on a new theatrical sequel to American Pie, dragging the series back from straight-to-DVD purgatory and reuniting the original cast. Last week we reported that Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, and Eugene Levy were already signed to star, with the likes of Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari, Thomas Ian Nicholas, and Jennifer Coolidge in negotiations.
However what we haven’t had are any plot details – other than the assumption it’ll be based around some sort of high-school reunion. Now What’s Playing is claiming the scoop, saying they’ve got these details from an insider about the upcoming film:
The whole gang return to East Great Falls for their ten-year Highschool reunion – only to be faced with the frightening realisation that theyre no longer young teenagers.
Oz has hit the big time as a contestant on a Dancing with the Stars-type show. He’s a big shot living in a pricey Malibu mansion.
Stifler isnt doing well – hes working as a temp for a rude boss that refers to him as his bitch. Hes also not having a lot of luck with the ladies.
Jims next-door neighbor Kara, now all grown-up, develops a crush on the married man. Can Jim resist her? Can he keep his marriage to Michelle in one piece?
Marco wants to kill Jim. Hes been dating Kara for quite a while but now his woman only has eyes for the pie f*cker!
Upon returning home Stifler scores with Laurie, a former hotttie now 80 pounds heavier. Thoughtful as ever, Stifler lets her know hell be turning the lights off for their lovemaking session.
Jim is a YouTube sensation these days – everyone knows his little performance piece from the 90s with Nadia!
Ozs girlfriend Mia – seemingly with him for his money only – decides to join him at the reunion. Meanwhile, Ozs ex, Heather, brings with her to town her new boyfriend, a forty-something surgeon, who tries to act younger.
Stifler is supposed to be working on the weekend of the reunion and attempts to keep up the ruse that he still is.
Trisha use to go to bandcamp with Michelle. Shes now a smokin hotie bartender – one whom international traveler Finch will score with (Though Stiflers Mom will also make a reappearance).
While none of that has been officially confirmed (and the Aussie site has sometimes got things wrong), What’s Playing says the script if funny and embodies the heart of the earlier movies. They also say that series regulars, such as Alyson Hannigan, who haven’t been mentioned in previous reports, are definitely involved.
