It’s official! Christopher Nolan has locked Inception co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt for a role in the upcoming superhero sequel The Dark Knight Rises. But who will Joseph Gordon-Levitt play in The Dark Knight Rises?
He’s been on Bat fans’ radars for a long time, with rumours pegging him as The Riddler, Deadshot, a member of the League of Shadows, or possibly even Robin the Boy Wonder – and this was before he was even officially in talks for the movie. Turns out it’s none of those, with Variety reporting Levitt will be Alerto Falcone, aka The Holiday Killer, the son of Tom Wilkinson’s Carmine Falcone from Batman Begins. He’s presumably that Batman took Gotham back from his dad and wants some revenge.
It’s also being reported that Juno Temple is being eyed to play the supporting role of a street-smart Gotham girl.
However it should be noted, that while Variety seems pretty certain these are the character Gordon-Levitt and Temple will play, Warner Bros and Nolan aren’t confirming anything. The Dark Knight Rises starts shooting fairly soon for release July 2012.
