Who wants to see Shia LaBeouf with the horn? Or two horns in fact, as he’s attached to star in an adaptation of novel Horns Joe Hill (who it’s obligatory to mention is the son of Stephen King), which Mandalay Pictures has been quietly putting together since 2009.
LaBeouf will play Ig Perrish, a 26-year-old man who wakes up after a night of hard drinking and discovers there are horns growing out of his head (hasn’t that happened to everyone!). As the horns keep growing, he realises they may have a mysterious connection to the unsolved murder of his girlfriend. It all sounds a bit weird, but hopefully will make more sense on the screen.
In Treatment writer Keith Bunin, is on screeplay duties, although as yet there’s no director attached. Expect that to change now that LaBeouf is on board.
