Nicholas Hoult seems to be on trajectory for major stardom, with X-Men: First Class out in a couple of months, and major roles in Jack The Giant Killer and Mad Max: Fury Road lined up. And now he’s going to turn into a zombie.
Deadline reports he’s landed the lead in Warm Bodies, Summit Entertainment’s adaptation of Isaac Marion’s upcoming undead novel. As with Jack The Giant Killer, it’s been amongst the most coveted roles around for young actors, and Hoult bagges them both, suggesting he’s insanely hot at the moment.
In Warm Bodies, Hoult will play an existentially tormented zombie who begins an unlikely friendship with the girlfriend of one his victims, and it starts a chain reaction that transforms him and perhaps will do the same for his fellow zombies and maybe the whole lifeless world. Joanthan Levine (All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, The Wackness) is set to write and direct.
Shooting is due to begin late summer, once Hoult’s finished work on Jack The Giant Killer.
