With Nicholas Hoult now installed as the title character in Bryan Singer’s Jack The Giant Killer, and various other actors such as Bill Nighy, Ewan McGregor and Stanley Tucci joining the cast, the main role people have been wondering about is the princess around which the action of the film revolves.
It’s been known Singer was looking for someone fairly new and not that well known for the role, and after an extensive search, Deadline reports Singer’s found his princess in the form of 19-year-old British actress, Eleanor Tomlinson, who’s previously been seen in Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging and Alice In Wonderland.
She’ll get to be be the damsel in distress in the movie, which is an ‘adult’ take on the Jack & the Beanstalk fariy story, with a farm boy (hoult) leading an expedition to free a princess taken hostage by a giant, a situation which threatens the uneasy peace between humans and giants. Bill Nighy and John Kassir will be the two-headed leader of the giants, while Stanley Tucci is the villain, a duplicitous advisor to the king.
Shooting is due to begin in the UK later this month.
