It was strongly suggested that Toy Story 3 would be the last we’d see of Woody and the gang on the big screen, but while their feature-length adventures have been put to bed (at least for now), that doesn’t mean we can’t get our fix with shorter Toy Story tales.
In the last few days it’s been revealed we’ll be getting two Toy Stoy shorts this year, one of which will precede Cars 2 this summer, while the other will feature alongside The Muppets in November. EW has revealed the first two images from the six-minute cartoon that’ll be attached to Cars 2, and which will be called Toy Story Hawaiian Vacation.
Here’s what EW had to say about it, ‘When Barbie and Ken bungle plans to stow away on a tropical excursion, Woody, Buzz & Co. re-create a romantic getaway in the toy box for a new six-minute short, Hawaiian Vacation, which will precede Cars 2 in theaters starting June 24. ”Woody becomes kind of like what’s-his-name on Love Boat … Captain Stubing!” says director Gary Rydstrom, who also helmed Pixar’s 2006 alien abduction short, Lifted.’
Yey, more Toy Story. To be honest, I think more people will want to see these than Cars 2 and The Muppets!
