Uma Thurman doesn’t just do annoying car commercials you know, sometimes she actually makes movies too. Variety reports that she and Jessica Biel have just signed on to star oppostie Gerard Butler in the sports comedy, Playing The Field. The movie is set to be directed by Gabriele Muccino, who as we just reported, has also signed up to direct Adaline.
Playing The Field will come first though, with Butler as a former football player (that’s soccer, not that American nonsense), who’s used to living a wild and crazy life. However he comes to realise that his hi-jinks have stopped him bonding with his young son, so he agrees to coach the kid’s team, in the hope it will bring them closer together.
Thurman is due to play a soccer mom who takes a bit of a shine to Butler’s character. Biel will be the ex-wife. So no generic roles for the women there then.
Muccino plans to start shooting next month.
