Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz and Imagine Entertainment are teaming up to remake The Boss of It All for Universal, based on Lars von Trier’s Norwegian comedy Direktoren For Det Hele, reports The Wrap.
Just to reiterate, yes we are saying the guy behind Arrested Development is going to remake a Lars von Trier movie, but don’t panic, as 2006’s Direktoren For Det Hele isn’t the sort of misery-fest we’ve come to associate with the Scandinavian director.
Mitchell Hurwitz will direct the movie, which focuses on the owner of a small IT company who pretends there’s another boss above him in order to more easily break bad news to his employees. When he sells the company and the new owner wants to meet this fabled uber-boss, he has to hire a failed actor to play him.
Emma Forrest is attached to write the screenplay, with Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Ron Howard executive producing
