It seems Clash Of The Titans director Louis Leterrier has a new trick up his sleeve, as he’s planning to helm Now You See Me. After passing on directing the sequel to Clash (he apparently had a tough time with studio interference on that one), it looked like he was moving onto a disaster flick about a father who has to search for his lost child as the world stops spinning and Earth begins to lose its gravity (yes, really, that’s the plot), but while that’s still on the cards, he wants to slip something else in first.
According to ThePlaylist, Now You See me is a high concept movie, which ‘follows a crack FBI squad in a game of cat-and-mouse against a super-team of the worlds greatest illusionists, who pull off a series of daring bank heists during their performances and showers the profits on to their audiences.’
Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Transformers) will produce, while Boaz Yakin (Prince Of Persia) and Edward Ricourt handles the screenplay.
It’s an interesting premise, although by the sound of it the illusionists are more interesting than the FBI team, so perhaps the movie ought to concentrate on the magic, as that could make a really interesting heist flick.
