He’s come a long way from About A Boy and Skins, but with A Single Man, Clash of The Titans and the upcoming X-Men: First Class, Nicholas Hoult has become a bit of a player in Hollywood. Now he’s bagged his biggest role yet, taking the much coveted lead in Bryan Singer’s Jack The Giant Killer.
While many had expected the role to go to Aaron Johnson, Singer must have been impressed with what Hoult has done in First Class (which the director produced) and according to Deadline the young Brit has now got the role. While he’s yet to sign his deal, it’s expected to be finalised in the next few days.
Jack the Giant Killer is a scary revisionist take on the Jack and the Beanstalk mythology and Hoult will play a farmer who leads an expedition into the giants’ kingdom to rescue a kidnapped princess. Bill Nighy, Stanley Tucci and John Kassir were recently cast.
Production will commence this spring.
