By now we’d expected to hear who would take the title role in Bryan Singer’s Jack The Giant Killer, but it appears the director is still yet to decide on that, although that hasn’t stopped him beginning to cast some other parts.
The Wrap reports that Stanley Tucci and Bill Nighy have both been cast in the flick. Tucci will play Roderick, the villain of the story and an adviser to the king, who secretly has plans to take over the kingdom. Nighy meanwhile will be one half of Fallon, the two headed leader of the giants, with the other half played by John Kassir.
Billed as a more adult look at the Jack And The Beanstalk story, the film sees a long-standing peace between humans and giants threatened when a young farmer tries to rescue a princess who has been kidnapped and taken to the giants’ kingdom.
But who will play the lead, a question which is becoming more pressing as the film nears its March start date? Last we heard, Aaron Johnson was still the frontrunner, although others such as Nicholas Hoult have also bee considered, but a final decision hasn’t been forthcoming.
