He might be busy being the new Spider-man at the moment, but Andrew Garfield is already lining up future project, with Variety reporting that he’s attached to star in Back Roads, for director Andrian Lyne (Fatal Attraction).
Also onboard are Jessica Garner and Marcia Gay Harden. The project is based the the Tawni O’Dell novel about a young man who must take care of his younger sisters after their mother is sent to prison for murdering their father.
Andrew Garfield will star as the new head of the family, while Jennifer Garner will play a neighbour who becomes romantically involved with Andrew Garfield’s character. Marcia Gay Harden has the role of the young man’s court-appointed therapist. Several young actresses are still vying to play the sisters.
Production is tentatively set to begin in June.
It’s certainly a quieter role for Garfield after taking on Spider-man, but should show off the talent he has for damaged characters, which he showed int he likes of Never Let Me Go and The Social Network.
