There have been rumours for a few days that director Rupert Sanders and Universal Studios were eyeing Kristen Stewart to play Snow White in Snow White And The Huntsman, but it was difficult to tell whether these were based on solid fact or whether it was merely because Stewart always has to be mentioned for these sorts of roles at some point.
However now THR confirms that an offer has gone out to the actress, and that while no deal is done and things could fall apart, both sides want it to happen. She would join Charlize Theron as the evil queen and Viggo Mortensen as the Huntsman, in a film which takes a revisionist look at the classic tale, turning it more into an action fantasy. The film plays up the Huntsman’s role, so that rather than being sent with Snow White to the wood to kill her but deciding to let her go, he takes her under his wing and teaches her survival skills.
However if Stewart does take the role, we think she’ll have to officially stop bitching and moaning about how terrible it is to be famous and how everything about it is awful. Twilight did thrust her far more into the spotlight than she could ever have imagined, and it was understandable the attention was a bit of a shock, but if she’s going to take roles to try and stay in the limelight, she ought to stop spending her entire life bitching about the downside.
