While director Garry Marshall has been busy adding and adding to his ensemble for his Ventine’s Day follow-up, New Year’s Eve, one name that’s been attached for quite a while and seemed pretty firm was Halle Berry. However according to Deadline, she’s now out.
It’s not known why she departed, especially as with each actor’s role only taking a few days to film, it’s not like she’d need a huge gap in her scedule. However she’ll no longer be in the movie, and Katherine Heigl will be taking her place as a caterer having a frantic New Year’s Eve, who runs into an old flame, played by Jon Bon Jovi.
Heigl is free after clearing her schedule following her adoption of a baby. She dropped out of Adaline, which was supposed to start shooting in March, in order to care for the youngster, and while she wasn’t going to head back to work until later this year, New Year’s Eve only needs a small commitment, so she’s signed up.
So by out last count, the movie will star, Jessica Biel, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, Jon Bon Jovi, Sofia Vergara, Seth Meyers, Til Schqeiger and now Katherine Heigl, which certainly isn’t a bad little cast.
The film will be released in December, just before New Year’s Eve.
