I’m still not sure why playing Jesus in Passion of the Christ didn’t do more for Jim Caviezel’s career, but he’s still plugging away and now has a new gig lined up in the movie Savannah, from writer-director Annette Haywood-Carter.
He’s not the only one signed up, as Variety reports that movie will also feature Chiwetel Ejiofor, Bradley Whitford, Jamie Alexander, Jack McBrayer and Hal Holbrook. Based on a true story, Caviezel will play 1900s aristocrat (and professional duck hunter) Ward Allen, who develops an enexpected partnership with freed slave Christmas Moultrie, the last slave born on the plantation where the cotton gin was invented.
There’s no news on who the other actors will play, although it’s an intriguing story and there’s undoubtedly some strong actors in the cast. Shooting starts on February 14th.
