A couple of days ago we reported on rumours that had emerged over at AICN, saying that Keanu Reeves had given a talk at the ‘London school of performing Arts university’ in support of Henry’s Crime, at which he’d claimed he’d recently had a meeting with the Wachowskis about making two more Matrix movies, and that they’d be in 3D.
At the time we noted that for several reasons the news should be treated with suspicion, not least that there is no institution exactly called the ‘London school of performing Arts university’, and also that AICN had got its rumour second hand from someone who’d e-mailed them saying he been at the talk.
Well, it turns out our scepticism was justified, as EW went to Keanu’s representatives, who said “None of it is true.” Indeed as many suspected, it appears Reeves didn’t give any talk in the UK where he could have hinted at more Matrix movies.
So that would appear to be that! To be honest though, if Keanu and the Wachowskis’ careers don’t pick up, it wouldn’t be shocking if they try to further the adventures of Neo, but as things stand, The Matrix Revolutions is the end. And many will be breathing a sigh of relief about that.
