Josh Schwartz, the creator of TV shows such as The O.C. and Chuck, will make his feature directing debut with Paramount’s upcoming comedy Fun Size, according to Variety. Maximilian Werner (The Colbert Report) wrote the script, which centres on a snarky teenage girl who is forced to take her younger brother out trick-or-treating. When she loses him, she must go and find her brother before anyone finds out he’s missing.
Paramount acquired the script back in May, which is described as a cross between Superbad and Adventures In Babysitting. Josh Schwartz was already on board as a producer, but now he will direct as well. Although Fun Size isn’t officially greenlit yet, Paramount is eyeing a spring production start, with filming to take place in St. Louis. Ideally they’d like it in cinemas this Halloween, but if the timing can’t be made to work, expect it during October of 2012.
