Ben Foster is one of those actors who seems more interested in challenging himself than trying to land the biggest roles in the biggest movies, and so far it’s paid off for him with the likes of Alpha Dog, Pandorum, The Messenger and the upcoming The Mechanic. Now he’s got a new gig, with Deadline reporting that he’s joined Fernando Meirelles’ (The Contstant Gardener) 360.
Rachel Qeitz and Anthony Hopkins are already on board the movie, which has been scripted by Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost/Nixon). 360’s inspiration is Reigen, a play by Austrian author/playwright Arthur Schnitzler (whose worked also inspired Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut), which previously become the controversial movie La Ronde in the 1950s. Originally published in 1900, the play was scandalous when first made public. It examines sexual morals within and between social classes, using various pairs of characters who have sexual encounters in and outside of their social classes.
While funding for the film is in place, there’s no news on when it might shoot.
