It has to be said, there aren’t many Venezuelan actors who’ve found worldwide movie success, but Edgar Ramirez’s stature is slowly growing thanks to role in Domino, Vantage Point, The Bourne Ultimatum and most notably playing the title role in the epic Carlos. Now Deadline reports he’s in final neogotition to play Ares, the God of War, in Wrath Of The Titans, the sequel to last year’s Clash Of The Titans.
While nothing’s been inked yet, Ramirez is apparently on the verge of signing on to join Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson in the movie, which will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman. There’s no news on exactly how Ares will flit into the plot. Indeed as yet there’s very little info on exactly what the plot will be. Let’s hope it has one, as the first film didn’t really bother.
