With a December 9th, 2011 release date long been set for the follow-up to Valentine’s Day, titled New Year’s Eve, director Garry Marshall is busy putting his ensemble together to ensure the star packed film makes it to cinemas in time. It was due to start shooting in mid-December, but due to the difficulty of getting everyone to sign contracts (after the success of Valentine’s Day, agents are being far more exacting about their clients appearing in the follow-up), things had to be moved back to February.
Now Variety reports Sienna Miller has joined the throng, which also includes Jessica Biel, Abigail Breslin, Bert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ashton Kutcher, Sarah Jessica Parker, Til Schweiger and Hillary Swank. Zac Efron, Halle Berry, Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara has also previously been said to be in talks for the flick, but they’re not mentioned by Variety, which suggests that either things have fallen through or they’re yet to officially sign on.
The movie tells intertwining stories of a group of New Yorkers as they navigate their way through bittersweet drama and romance over the course of New Year’s Eve. There’s no news though on how Miller might fit into all this.
