Gemma Arterton is a ridiculously busy woman. She’s already got tonnes of movies on her plate, but it seems she feels she’s got room for one more, as she’s know officially signed on to star in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.
Jeremy Renner has been attached to the Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow) directed movie for quite a while, and back in September it was reported that Noomi Rapace (Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) was in talks to join him, while Eva Green and Diane Kruger were also in contention. However the female lead has now gone to Arterton. Renner plans to fit the movie in during the eight week break between the end of shooting on Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and the start of The Avengers.
Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, which Wirkola co-wrote with DW Harper, follows up Hansel & Gretel’s story years after their experiences in the gingerbread house, by which time they’ve become bounty hunter, who specialise in tracking down witches. (Source: Variety)
