Olivia Wilde is certainly turning into quite the movie star, and she’s now added a new role, lining herself up to star in Welcome To People, the directorial debut of Transformers and Start Trek screenwriter, Alex Kurtzman.
Wilde joins Chris Pine and Elizabeth in the movie, which is about a struggling twentysomething man (Pine) who, after flying home to LA for the funeral of his estranged record-producer father, discovers that the will stipulates that he must deliver $150,000 in cash to a 30-year-old alcoholic sister (Banks) he never knew existed, and her troubled 12-year-old son. Variety reports that Olivia Wilde has signed up to play the girlfriend of Chris Pine’s character.
Wilde is certainly one to watch, with Tron Legacy and The Next Three Days under her belt, as well as roles in the upcoming Now, Cowboys & Aliens and The Change-Up. That means we can expect to see a lot more of her on the silver screen, and ensures she won’t need to return to TV’s House anytime soon.
