Two More Red State Character Posters – Meet Caleb and The Sons, from Kevin Smith’s latest

20th December 2010 By Tim Isaac

We’ve already had two character posters for Kevin Smith’s Red State (see them here and here), both of which were released after pledges of money to charity, and the director has been continuing that theme, releasing a poster titled ‘The Sons’ to the dodgily named P***y Eating Club, after they donated $1700 to the Kenny Gordon Foundation, which supports several worthy causes. Unsurprisingly considering it’s a pretty NSFW site, they’ve hosted the pic away from the rest of their content.

The pic features Michael Angarano’s Travis, Nicholas Braun’s Billy Ray and Kyle Gallner’s character, whose name we have yet to learn, who run into serious trouble with fundamentalist pastor Abin Cooper (Michael Parks) and his deeply devout, not to mention twisted, clan. (The film is sort of based on the homophobic, funeral picketing Westboro Baptist Church, but not really).

The other poster, which you can see below, went to Xcellent Creations, after they bid $1800 for the Kenny Gordon Foundation. It features DJ/comedian/actor Ralph Garman, who is also Smith’s co-host on his popular Hollywood Babble-on. Apparently that poster was meant to be released at a later date, but Xcellent got it after Smith didn’t see their bigger bid in time, and so they were offered Caleb in recompense.
