It’s got to the point where a cloud of suspicon hangs over every film Nic Cage decides to be in, as while he’s occasionally ace, much of the time he seems to find it tough choosing movies that aren’t either stupid in themselves, or he gives a performance that makes him seem a bit stuipid. However he’s got a new one up his sleeves, with THR reporting that Cage will star in the action adventure Medallion for Millennium Films.
The film has been around for a while, with the likes of Clive Owen and Jason Statham showing interest, but plans got firmer in Octoder when director Simon West (Con Air) came aboard. Safe House screenwriter David Guggenheim will write the script, which focuses on a former thief who has just hours to track down his daughter, who has been kidnapped and locked in the trunk of a New York City cab (known as a medallion cab).
So yep, we can expect much Cage overacting and shouting, along with his trademark concerened expression that looks like he could do with some Immodium. It’s not yet certain when it might go in front of the cameras.
