Every time I hear the title Fast Five, it makes me cringe, but nevertheless, that’s what they’re currently calling the fifth Fast & The Furious movie. It’s makes it sound like a petrolhead version of an Enid Blyton book. Now the first photo from the movie has been revealed by USA Today, which shows franchise veteran Vin Diesel going toe-to-toe with newbie Dwayne Johnson, in a bit of a ‘who’s the baldest?’ stand-off.

According to the story attached to the picture, Johnson plays Luke Hobbs, ‘a cop on the trail of street racers Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson and the familiar crew of the Furious franchise’. Indeed the film will feature faces returning from all four previous movies.
Director Justin Lin had this to say, “I think what keeps it [the franchise] going is that it’s not really about cars. I have to be honest: I’m not a big car guy. At the core, Fast and Furious is about family and how to create them.” Umm, no, it’s about cars and stunts, as I doubt anyone can even remember the plots. Even so it’s been one of Universal’s most consistent franchises over the last decade, and they’ll be hoping the box office hold up for the fifith instalment when it’s released next April.
