While the world doesn’t seem to be crying out for films that pair Adam Sandler with Kevin James – neither I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry or Grown Ups exactly broke the bank – the two comic actos seem to want to keep working together. Deadline now reports that Sony will be getting back into business with Sandler and James for the new project Valet Guys.
The studio bought a preemptive pitch for the comedy, which Kevin James will write along with Nick Bakay. The story centres on two longtime valets at a ritzy South Beach hotel, who witness a murder and go on the lam. Adam Sandler and Kevin James would star as the valets. Let’s hope there’s a bit more of an angle than this basic story lets on, as who cares if some guys go on the lam, just because they’re valets?
Bakay and James have collaborated in the past, co-writing Paul Blart: Mall Cop and the upcoming comedy The Zookeeper, which Sony will release next summer.
