It’s all change on the set of Albert Nobbs, the Glenn Close written and starring adaptation of George Moore’s story, which won Close huge acclaim when she played the title role off-Broadway in the 1980s.
Back in March it was announced that Amanda Seyfried and Orlando Bloom would also be taking major roles, but according to The Playlist, they’re out (largely because the movie was delayed from it previously planned summer 2010 shoot) and will be replaced by Aaron Johnson and Mia Wasikowska.
However Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and presumably Janet McTeer and Michael Gambon are still onboard. The film is about a woman (Close) who becomes increasingly trapped by 19th Century Irish society after living and working as a man for 20 years, with her deception leading to an unusual love trianlge.
Rodrigo Garcia plans to start shooting in the next couple of weeks.
