It’s certainly a provocative title (and indeed many have idly thought about it from time to time), but Killing Bono isn’t about trying to murder the U2 frontman, but the story of the McCormick brothers, who set their sights on rock stardom in Dublin in the late 70s and early 80s. However while their band fails to take off, at the same time fellow Dubliners U2 are starting to take over the world, and becomes the McCormick’s greatest rivals. It’s a fun idea, based on a real life tale, and as Neil McCormick is now a music critic for The Telegraph, they got the trailer exclusive, which we’ve embedded below. Killing Bono stars Ben Barnes, Robert Sheehan and Krysten Ritter, and will hit UK cinemas on April 1st, 2011.
