It seems that after making the short film X in 2008, Josh Brolin has decided it’s time to direct his first feature-length movie. According to Variety he’s planning to helm in Pitz & Joe, adapted from Domnique Cieri’s acclaimed play.
Maya Forbes is working on the screenplay, with Brolin also planning to star. The play is about a young woman and her brother, set five years after he was left brain damaged in an accident. While she tries to convince him life is worth living, flashbacks reveal their backstory. Cieri wrote the original 1979 play partially based on her own experiences after her brother broke his neck.
There’s no news on when the movie might shoot. Indeed, Brolin is going to be busy promoting True Grit and shooting Men In Black III for the next few months, so it’s unlikely to film before next summer.
