Winnie The Pooh is coming back to the big screen, and Disney has even resisted the urge to take him CG (as they have on TV), making what they desrcibe as ‘the first big-screen Pooh adventure from Disney animation in more than 35 years’. That’s technically true, although only because the likes of Piglet’s Big Movie and Pooh’s Heffalump Movie weren’t technically made by the company’s main animation unit. Anyway he’s back and coming to cinemas next summer. Now the first pics (see them above and below), trailer (embedded at the bottom of this post) and synopsis have arrived.
Here’s the official synopsis: ‘With the charm, wit and whimsy of the original featurettes, this all-new movie reunites audiences with the philosophical bear of very little brain and friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Kanga, Rooand last, but certainly not least, Eeyore, who has lost his tail. Well a tail is either there or it isnt there, said Pooh. And yours isnt there. Owl sends the whole gang on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit. It turns out to be a very busy day for a bear who simply set out to find some hunny. Inspired by five stories from A.A. Milnes books in Disneys classic, hand-drawn art style.
