Although even the people who first posted it, Collider, aren’t quite sure where it’s come from, the first image for the sequel to Star Trek seems to have shown up. They speculate that it’s some sort of merchandising item or from something where Paramount needs plenty of time to make sales (for example, if could be to help them sell toy rights or suchlike). However it is quite cool and appears to confirm we really can expect the flick summer 2012, even if it doesn’t tell us the official name the movie will go by when it arrives in cinemas.
However Star Trek 2 isn’t the only movie where the first image has now shown up online, as MTV has revealed the first three pics from The Goon, the hockey comedy starring Seann William Scott and Jay Baruchel (who also co-wrote the script). Scott stars as Doug, a small town bouncer who, after physically defending his best friend (Baruchel) at a hockey game, is recruited to play the enforcer for a minor league team, despite initial misgivings.
Baruchel says, “Doug isnt about winning Doug is about doing what you need to do in a given time and finding what you are good at and finding what youre meant to do. In some ways its a fairly anti-sports movie because theres no – well, I dont want to give too much away, but it doesnt have all the clichés that those movies usually have.” He also promises it’ll be a hard-R rated movie, and won’t stint of the on and off pitch brawls. Take a look at the pics below and underneath that, we’ve got the full Tron: legacy poster triptych.
Last week Disney started release a triptych of images which once the final one was revealed, could be joined together to make one large image. All the images are now released, one featuring Clu (Jeff Bridges young virtual alter-ego in the film), another with Garett Hedlung and Olivia Wilde, with the final one has Kevin Flynn (the older Bridges) himself, who’s been trapped in the Tron world for over two decades. The film is out December 17th, but take a look at the very cool triptych images below.
