It certainly seems like we shouldn’t expect Olivia Wilde to return to House anytime soon, as the actress’ diary is fast filling up with big film roles. She was expected to breakout with Tron: Legacy and Cowboy and Aliens anyway, and she’s ensuring she stays on a roll with movie like The Change-Up and now Andrew Niccol’s film, which was known as Im.mortal until recently, but is currently untitled.
The movie is set in a future society where the aging process stops at around the age of 25. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. The rich can live forever, while the rest try to negotiate for their immortality. A poor rebel called Will (Justin Timberlake) kills someone for their time and goes on the run from a corrupt police force known as ‘time keepers’, taking Amanda Seyfried’s character hostage. Inevitably though captor and captive start to fall for one another.
We already started to see how the fact everyone looks the same age is throwing up interesting casting, when last week 31-year-old Kartheiser was announced to play the father of 25-year-old Seyfried. Now The Wrap says 26-year-old Wilde will play 29-year-old Timberlake’s mother. The duo previously worked together on Alpha Dog, and I’d be willing to bet then they never expected to be playing mother and son.
Cillian Murphy and Collin Pennie are also due to star, with shooting commencing before the end of the year.
