Hellraiser Gets A New Pinhead – Stephan Smith Collins takes over from Doug Bradley in Revelations

21st September 2010 By Tim Isaac

There are few things certain in life, except death, taxes and that every few years Doug Bradley will play Pinhead in a new Hellraiser movie. However we’ll now have to scrub that last one off the list, as while Bradley stayed with the franchise from the 1987 original through eight movies to 2005’s Hellraiser: Deader, he’s now being replaced in the latest continuation of the series, Hellraiser Revelations.

While there’s been a lot of talk of a Hellraiser remake, that’s been put on hold, so instead we’re getting this continuation, which is currently shooting in LA. It’s not known if Bradley declined to return or they just didn’t want him, but Collins will be the new master of pain, with Bloody Disgusting also reporting that Devon Sorvari, Steven Brand, Sanny Van Heteren, Tracey Fairaway, and Daniel Buran will star in the low-budget flick, which is being directed by Victor Garcia.

The plot reolves around two friends, Steve and Nico, who while in Mexico unleash Pinhead. However one of them tries to back out of their pact with the infamous master of pain, attempting to swap himself with one of his family members. However the other becomes such a devoted follower of Pinhead that he becomes ‘pseudo-Pinhead’, who mimics his master’s every move and revels in the pain that eventually leads to his pleasure.

The film should be out (probably direct to DVD) next year.
