With Bill Condon gearing up to direct the two-part, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn later this year, the first new casting news has emerged, via Entertainment Tonight. According to them, Rami Malek will portray Benjamin, a member of an Egyptian vampire coven who has the ability to control the elements air, water, fire and earth (think Last Airbender without the jumping about).
In the Breaking Dawn book, the coven travels to Forks, Washington to help out the Cullen clan in their battle with the Volturi, who are angry Bella and Edward have spawned a child.
Malek recently appeared in The Pacific, where he must have impressed producer Tom Hanks, who also cast him in his upcoming Larry Crowne. However he’s probably best known as Ahkmenrah in the Night At The Museum movies.
Shooting on Breaking Dawn is due to start fairly soon, with Part due in cinemas November 18th, 2011, with Part arriving almost exactly a year later.
