Although after The Bounty Hunter, I’m not sure whether he should ever be allowed to work again, THR reports that Andy Tennant has been hired to direct Katherine Heigl in Adaline. To be fair to Tennant, Ever After, Sweet Home Alabama and Hitch weren’t too bad, even if Fool’s Gold and the aforementioned Bounty Hunter were dreadful. Let’s hope he manages the former this time rather than the latter.
The slightly Dorian Gray meets Benjamin Button meets Beauty and the Beast film, previously announced as The Age Of Adaline, is about a woman (Heigl) born at the turn of the 20th Century who becomes immortal and ageless after an accident. However, after years living a solitary life, she meets a man for whom it may be worth risking her life to regain her mortality.
As yet there’s no news on who might play the love interest, but they’ve got a bit of time to find someone, as production isn’t due to begin until early 2011.
