Although many feel M. Night Shyamalan has lost his touch as a writer-director (even if The Last Airbenber has done okay at the box office, it got horredous reviews), his films do always have interesting ideas. As a result, the deal he put together with Universal to create and produce films – but not write or direct them – under The Night Chronicles banner, sounds like a great idea. The first of these films is Devil, based on a story by Shyamalan, but written by Brian Nelson and directed by Quarantine’s Dowdle brothers. The movie is about a group of people trapped in an elevator, and one of them may be the Devil! Although that sounds like a bit of a limited set-up, the trailer suggests it might actually be better than you might expect. Devil is due in cinemas later this year, but click below for the first trailer.
