It seems the success of Alice In Wonderland, where he played Tweedledum and Tweedledum, has given Matt Lucas a bit more status in Hollywood, as THR reports that he’s just signed on to appear in the Judd Apatow produced comedy, Always The Bridesmaid.
There’ no news on what role he’ll play, but then, there hasn’t been all that much info released about the film either, other than that Kristen Wiig (who also co-write the screenplay with Annie Mumolo) will play a maid of honor, who has to try and please the snobby, rich bridesmaids at a series of events leading up to her best friend’s wedding.
While Rose Byrne and Maya Rudolph have previously been announced to star, new additions to the cast include Ellie Kemper (The Office), Jill Clayburgh (Dirty Sexy Money), Chris O’Dowd (Dinner for Schmucks), Melissa McCarthy (The Back-up Plan) and Wendi McLendon-Covey (Reno 911!).
Paul Feig (TV’s The Office and Nurse Jackie) will direct.
