Former Gilmore Girls (and now Parenthood) star Lauren Graham is pretty much at the top of our list of Hollywood actress who need to be given better movie roles, as she’s immensely talented but hasn’t been allowed to shine on the silver screen. Now she’s got a new role that may prove quite fun, but which is unlikely to break her into the a-list.
A couple of days ago, rumours emerged that she was set to star in Scream 4, but as no one could pin down the source of this info (which first appeared on Ghouls On Film), it was assumed to be incorrect (especially as there were no roles on the casting call that seemed suitable). However now the actress has taken matters into her own hands and confirmed ,the news herself on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
She says she’ll play the mother of Emma Robert’s character, Jill Kessler, one of the heroines of the new movie, who is the cousin of original Scream character Sidney Prescott. That presumably means she’ll be the main one running around screaming while a ghostfaced maniac tries to kill her, however original series stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette will be on hand to help.
