All this week Disney has been releasing new character posters and descriptions for their upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer produced action fantasy, The Sorceror’s Apprentice, and now they’ve sent us the final one, introducing us to Nicolas Cage’s Wizard. He stars as Balthazar Blake, a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). However Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Stutler, a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The Sorceror’s Apprentice hits UK cinemas on August 11th.
If you wanna see the earlier posters, we’ve had ones for Gregory Woos’ Wizard, Alfred Molina’s Villain, Monica Bellucci’s Sorceress and Jay Baruchel’s Apprentice, as well as a new Sorceror’s Apprentice trailer that was released on Wednesday, and now you can look below for the poster and character description for The Wizard.
Character Description: BALTHAZAR BLAKE (Nicolas Cage) is a student of Merlin and a Sorcerer. More than 1,000 years old, Balthazar has been searching the globe until he finds the Prime Merlinean, the descendent of Merlin and inheritor of his great powers. When Balthazar finally discovers him in 10-year-old Dave Stutler, he finds himself with a very reluctant sorcerers apprentice.
