After the success of The Proposal, it seems all those involved are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle again, by reuniting for a new comedy called Most Wanted. The film will be based on a pitch by Proposal writer Peter Chiarelli, which Universal bought on Friday, and comes with director Anne Fletcher (although she’s still negotiating a deal) and stars Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds attached.
THR reports the new action comedy will have a bit of a Midnight Run vibe (they’re obviously trying to avoid any mention of it being a bit like the recent stinker, The Bounty Hunter), with Reynolds as as FBI agent tasked with the job of escorting Bullock’s suspected criminal to court. However on the way, the two are ambushed and forced to go on the run. Don’t be shocked either if the duo initially don’t like each other much, but come to have feelings for one another (after all, that’s compulsory in this sort of film, isn’t it?).
Reynolds and Bullock were certainly a sparky team in The Proposal, and if you’ve watched any of the extras of the film’s DVD, you’ll know they had a whale of a time making the movie, so it’s little wonder they’re keen to work together again.
